Love is in the air and there’s chocolate everywhere! It must be Valentine’s Day. I love any opportunity to do something for the kids and get them moving. This New England weather has been keeping us indoors and forcing me to think of creative ways to keep the kids active.
If you’re looking for a fun Valentine’s Day activity, I hope this will help you too.
Scavenger Hunt
I absolutely love scavenger hunts and do them frequently for the kids. Its an awesome way to keep the kids busy for a few minutes, help them work on their reading (without them knowing) and strengthen their reasoning. They’re learning while having fun and you’re buying yourself a few minutes of peace. Win-win, right?
On Valentine’s Day this year, we will do this after the kids get home from school before dinner. Its especially fun to dim the lights a bit so it adds to the drama and excitement of the hunt. If your child is not yet reading, you can read the clues to him or her and have them figure out the locations. Its still super fun!
I hope you will try it and let me know it goes in your home.
May the God, who is love fill your home with joy. Happy Valentine’s Day!!
